Soo Do Karate
The Ohio Moo Duk Kwan
was founded over 40 years ago by Master Lynn Jackson, 8th
degree black belt Grand Master, from Oberlin, Ohio. He brought this art
from Korea, where he learned it from Tang Soo Do masters while stationed
as a GI in the Korean war. He tested for his first Dan (black belt) under
Grandmaster and founder Hwang Kee in 1960. He has since trained thousands
of people all over the United States, including police, members of the
Cleveland Browns, and numerous instructors in the United States.

About OMDK
For over 45 years in Northern Ohio, Grand master Lynn Jackson has taught
thousands of students self improvement through this grand martial art.
We teach self discipline, respect of elders, others, and oneself. Control
of ones life comes only after the mind has been disciplined. Curriculum:
Based on the traditional Soo Bak Do style, the OMDK teaches the basic
blocks, hand techniques, kicks, hyung (kata/forms), one and three-step
sparring, self defense, BO staff training, and sparring. Sparring with
protective equipment is optional, and one is trained for multiple attack
scenarios.

It was created in Korea in the 1950's by the late founder and Grand master
Hwang Kee. Tang Soo Do is rooted in the origional Soo
Bahk Do style, and contains Chinese and Okinawan elements.
