I am showing my age, but when I was a boy in the 1970’s there was an electronic repair shop standing where the current police department is today. That repair shop would service your broken TV, radio, and in my case – a guitar amplifier that I had blown up and they would have it running again in little time.
Today, manufacturers do not want doing this; saying it “voids the warranty” – they just want to sell you another one.
